"16 and Pregnant" reality TV show

The appeal of reality TV has become more popular in time. More and more reality shows have been created to attract different types of viewers of different interests and ages. One controversial but popular reality TV show is “16 and Pregnant.” This show has attracted fans of all ages and is very popular even though it has only been around for two seasons. The reason that this show is so controversial is because the number of teen pregnancy has increased and many are trying to link that statistic to this show. However it is hard to make that confirmation unless a survey is taken by pregnant teens and is they answer that the show encouraged them to get pregnant. At the same time, the show has also helped teens acknowledge the importance of taking steps to prevent pregnancy.
I personally watch the show and I am a mother of three now, my youngest being only 3 weeks old, so I know that the purpose of the show is to help teens learn the importance of preventing teen pregnancy. The show introduces the audience to young teens that get pregnant at 16 and we get a first hand view of the struggles of being a teen, finishing school, and trying to be mothers. The truth in the show is what makes it interesting because they show true raw emotions and obstacles that these teens go through to survive being a teen mom. This TV show has become so popular from the drama and experiences that the teens go through.
I strongly believe that this show will continue to be viewed by many new fans because of the true life experiences and drama. There is so much shocking, jaw dropping moments in each episode that makes it an irresistible show to watch and follow. Viewers gain a respect for the moms and love for their stories and the babies involved. This show is what encouraged me to do a surrogacy for another couple 2 years ago. I was able to give a couple a baby girl last year and I am very honored to have helped them in their journey to become parents. This show encouraged me to do that because I saw that it was easy for a lot of teens to get pregnant although they are not prepared and there are so many people out there who are prepared and who are not so lucky in naturally becoming pregnant and having a family.
The truth is that many teens have this fairy tale picture in their mind that they will meet their partner at a young age, get married, have babies, and live happily ever after. Unfortunately, sometimes things do not occur in this order or only some of these events happen and it doesn’t seem like the picture they imagined. This show introduces young teens to the harsh truths that things will not always happen in the way that you dreamed. I myself got pregnant with my first daughter very young and I see a lot of myself in these young teens when I had my first daughter. I encourage others to watch and get the correct message that the show is intended to exude.

Tupac a gangsta rap artist

One out of many artists that I consider to be a gangster rap artist is Tupac. He openly uses his street smarts to write his music which contains violent lyrics of gang life. Tupac also openly displayed  his tattoo  that read “thug 4 life.” This is a tattoo that only a gang member living the thug life would get. The friends that Tupac grew up with or sometimes rapped with were usually gang members as well. Some will agree that he is a gangster rap artist and others view him as a poet. This is where some will disagree that he is a gangster if they see him as a poet. His father was not around and his family grew up in the time of the black panthers when racism was huge. His mother was pregnant with him and she was put in prison. I think that these life events had a lot to do with him falling into the gang life. His father was also a gang member. He admits to feeling lonely as a child in his life documentary. As a young kid, he began acting, and this is when he realized that he loved the fame and loved performing.
Tupac began rapping when he was 17 and he rapped about life struggles that many were going through at the time. He saw hunger, violence, and gang members. He admits that he hung out with drug dealers and gang members because he looked to men for role models and unfortunately the only men around him were the dope dealers and gang members. His mother became addicted to crack and this made his life even more difficult to where he needed other adults to turn to.  He missed out on a lot of his childhood because he had to worry about supporting himself and this let to hanging out with bad role models. He became famous thanks to a 15 year old girl who listened to his music and liked it. Her father was a producer.
Tupac is well known for his controversial lyrics and images in his music videos. He rapped about what was going on in the world regarding racism, violence, and crime. Tupac did not get arrested until he became famous. He got arrested about 12 times and I think that this triggered him to become more out of control. I think that he would not resist the gangster rap label. He Tupac has two sides to him. He is hard but he is also very sensitive because he was raised by his mother. However, Tupac considers himself a thug. He admits that he will always be a thug. This is him admitting that he is a gangster living the thug life. He thinks that being a thug comes from pride from having nothing but being strong and holding his head up high no matter his situation. He is against certain acts of crime though. He is not all bad as some would believe from some of his music.

M&C q. 4 p. 147

M&C q. 4 p 147
Teenagers give Eminem credit for keeping it real because unlike most rappers that rap about woman, money, and fame, Eminem sings from a more realistic standpoint. A lot of what he has gone through in his life is reflected in his music even if it involves hate, it is his true raw feelings. A lot of people can respect a writer for putting their true emotions and life events into their music. Most artists today will rap about anything and make it sound popular with the beats they put behind the lyrics whether there is true meaning there or not.
Eminem is not afraid to show people what he has gone through in his life and express how he felt at the time. One can complain about the language if anything but sometimes, there are no better words to express feelings. He is not afraid of taking risks and will talk about anyone that he feels he needs to put out there and tell how he feels about them. I think that teenagers appreciate how real he is about how he grew up and things he has gone through. This helps teenagers see that their life can get worse so to appreciate what they have.
Most of the music I listen to is reality based. It is important because it is true and easy to relate to music that contains true meaning to the artist. Eminem has a lot of different music that many can relate to and enjoy. A lot of teenagers especially can relate to at one point not getting along with their mother. It helps when you find someone you can look up to and relate to. It is easy to appreciate someone’s true feelings rather than music that has no meaning behind it.
Eminem is well known and appreciated for his metaphors on real ideas in his music. He admits to almost trying to rap against lil Wayne and acknowledges that he would’ve lost that battle. In his movie 8 Mile, he risks being judged by putting his life events out there but he was not afraid of what anyone thinks. He also has a sense of humor in his music. In his song, We Made You, he makes fun of other famous people who he feels that they think they are so famous and everyone wants them. He has no fear to put his feelings out there whether it is about someone else or about his life events.
Eminem is not afraid to sing about the people in his life. This is something that most artists do. He sings about other artists who have helped him out in becoming who he is and sings about family members including his daughter. He expresses the love that he has for his daughter and he even included her saying something at the end of one of his songs. You can’t help but appreciate him as a father. I love when an artist can put their true selves in the music.
